Goodbye Charlene

I met her in a non-descript bar;

now I’ll describe for you in detail.

A rose by any other name still smells the same,

but Dad I miss the Brewers’ Retail.

She said she came from nowhere nice,

and hitched a ride from Saratoga.

She pulled a secret like a gold plow through her past.

Turned her noses up at yoga

Goodbye Charlene

Man, I’d love to see her canvas on oil.

Boy I could expand her borders.

Girl you bring my body to a boil.

Woman your wishes sound like orders

Charlene wore a see-through mask,

and always took it on the chin.

There’s a lot of helping hands she’s done without,

and a few that Charlene’s done within.

She talked a lot about the right here and the now

using just the future tense.

The grass is greener behind your white picket lines.

Charlene, I’m falling off the fence.

I met her in a non-descript bar;

now I’ll describe for you in detail.

A rose by any other name still smells the same,

but Dad I miss the Brewers’ Retail.
