Everyone Is A Hypocrite

Everyone is a hypocrite

That’s what he said

Then like a flash in a jerry can

I had to go thank the man

Last trip to the altar

First trip to the grave

Bright and shining a eulogy

When they look back at me

Everyone is a hypocrite

Everybody is full of it

You can crown em

You can drown em

Leave em or bereave em

But nothing they say’s worth spit

A stitch in time saves a dozen

Threading needles takes time

Tattooed and cold head hands

The republic for which it stands

The conscience and the unconscious

Is a factory job

Push and crank in a high school hall

A candle glowing success for all
